ABOUT YOUNG FAMILY DENTISTRY
We are a traditional type private dentist office providing general dentistry, preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, and cosmetic dental care to the families living in Plainfield and its surrounding areas, including: North and South Plainfield, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Piscataway, and Edison since 2008.
Our office was established based on the ideals of you having one family dentist whom you can develop a long term trust and patient-doctor relationship as well as having direct access to your primary care dentist 24/7. So every dental need of an entire family is performed personally by the same primary care general dentist each and every visit so that the continuation of the planned dental treatment are never interrupted. And when our office hours are over, Dr. Young continues be available for you by a text or a phone-call or an email to assist you with any of your needs or questions.
We use the most modern technology in conjunction with caring, highly professional service, so you get the best and most comprehensive dental care possible. There is nothing more beautiful than a healthy smile, and nothing more important than our oral, dental, and overall health. Dr. Catherine O. Young
Dr. Young has had a long-standing relationship with dentistry, ever since her graduation from the College of Dentistry at New York University in 1999, and receiving her General Practice Residency at Jersey City Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Young obtained her Bachelor's degree in BioChemistry from San Francisco State University, and also completed her Masers in Business Adminisration with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Touro University International in 2005.
Upon graduating from the NYU Dental School, Dr. Young joined the U.S. Public Health Service, and became a (Lieutenant) dental officer. In 2001, Dr. Young served in the U.S. Coast Guard where she provided thousands of active duty men and women with dental care, and later received multiple recognition awards. She was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Commander just as she left for civilian life in 2003.
From 2004-2009, Dr. Young worked in Eric B. Chandler Health Center, which at the time belonged to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During that time, she treated the residents of New Brunswick while being the designated children's dentist to the students at Lord Stirling Elementary School of New Brunswick.
