BEYOND YOUR TEETH AND SMILE
Pain and aches in your head and neck area often cause tooth pain and tooth-related pain can sometimes spread to your head and neck region.
It will be faster for you to get a dental appointment to be seen by the dentist and more effective than going to Emergency rooms. If it's tooth-related problem, the pain will be addressed the same visit. If it's not, your physician will have one less factor to diagnose your head and neck pain when you finally get in for your medical appointment.
The most common problems in the head and neck region are teeth grinding, TMJ problems, persitant sore throat, lump by your jaw or neck, moles or skin lesions that were not present before, snoring, and sleep apnea.
It is most beneficial for you to have your physician and your dentist work together if you develop some of the conditions above.
At Young Family Dentistry, the health of your head and neck region are checked with every periodic visits. Unless you have a chronic medical problem, you would agree that you see the dentist more in a year than your physician.
